Dover has always been, and still is, an important port city. It provides access to the continent and also offers quality tourist attractions for inbound visitors.

The two best known hotels are situated near the Western Terminal and are The Churchill and the aptly-named Hovertel. Both boast excellent guest facilities. In addition, Tower House and Elmo Guesthouse are located near Dover Priory rail station to the west of the city centre.
